Why a Domain Says DNS Pending

DNS pending means the public records do not yet match the current instructions. It is common immediately after a change.

Where to find it: Admin → Settings → Domain

What to do

  1. Confirm the record type, name, and value character for character.
  2. Remove an older record that conflicts with the same name and type.
  3. Confirm you edited DNS at the provider currently responsible for the domain.
  4. Wait for the provider to publish the change, then select Refresh.
  5. If it is still pending, upload screenshots of both the Red Bricks OS instructions and the provider record to Help.

Good to know

  • DNS updates are not instant and different networks may see the change at different times.
  • Repeatedly deleting and re-adding the same correct record can restart the wait.
